Jackets finds

Research outerwear through fabric, lining, hardware and measurements before opening a live listing.

Before you compare

How to research jackets.

Jackets need more context than a chest label. Start with the intended layer: a shell, insulated jacket, denim layer and heavyweight overshirt behave differently in wind, rain and indoor heat. Compare items with the same purpose, then look at collar height, pocket placement, hem adjustment and the overall shoulder and sleeve shape.

Images are most useful when they show the front, back, lining and close-ups of hardware. A title may not tell you whether a jacket has a removable lining, a cropped body or a technical fabric. Keep the selected colour in your notes and confirm the current listing before relying on any specification or price.

Fit and sizing

Measure a jacket you already wear in the way you plan to layer it. Chest width and body length usually matter more than the letter size, while shoulder width and sleeve length help prevent a restrictive or overly long fit.

QC boundaries

QC can show stitching, zip alignment, pocket placement and obvious surface marks. It cannot establish warmth, waterproofing, breathability or how the garment will fit when worn over another layer.

Materials and construction

Look for lining seams, cuff finish, hem adjusters, zipper tape and the way panels meet at the shoulders. Fabric names and coating claims should be confirmed on the live listing, not inferred from a photo.
