Before you compare

How to research sweaters.

Sweaters and knitwear need fabric and proportion checks before you compare logos or colours. A crewneck, cardigan and cable knit can have very different warmth, stretch and layering space. Compare chest width, body length, shoulder shape and ribbing with an item you already wear in the same season.

Use close-up images to inspect knit texture, collar shape, cuffs and button areas. A thumbnail can hide the difference between a fine knit and a heavy, textured knit. Keep the selected option with your notes and check the live listing for composition, measurements and care guidance before relying on the product record.

Fit and sizing

Measure a sweater with the same intended layering level. Knitwear can stretch with wear, while a high collar, thick yarn or cropped hem can change the fit more than the size label suggests.

QC boundaries

QC can show visible texture, button alignment, colour and obvious loose threads. It cannot establish softness, warmth, long-term pilling or how much the knit will stretch after wear or washing.

Materials and construction

Review the neckline, shoulder joins, side seams, button placket and ribbed edges. Fibre content and knit weight must be verified from live seller information rather than inferred from photos.
